i forgot...

...here's my final animation.

Not so good at blogging

right i have decided im not to great at blogging so if your reading this and you care at all then im sorry that there havent been that many updates etc, but hopefully there will be a couple more over summer and then an outragous onslaught of posts for my second year antics.
so whats been happening since mid may?....not much really, saying that i got all my work in on time, with HOURS to spare, probably a record for me. now im enjoying my break, taken up a few more hours at work to pay my way through summer without student loan.

THE LAST PROJECT!
so here i will discuss a little about my final project and how i found it. the title character acting really excited me because i hadnt actually animated a character as such (walk cycles etc) so was looking forward to seeing whether i could do it or not. The freedom to choose a dialogue clip myself was also good because i found it fun and because it was something i had chosen i found it a lot more personal and a lot more engaging and easier to find the motivation and drive.
i chose a scene from the film Jay and Silent Bob by writer and director Kevin Smith. its 15 second clip with two speaking characters. so i thought how hard can it be? VERY. i really didnt think it was going to be as hard as it was, pretty much as soon as i started i felt like i was running down a very long, dark and endless tunnel with very little hope for me getting a good grade. after a while of hitting my head against a wall i decided my downfall was animating by blocking out and that why dont i try what i find easier and do straight ahead animating? so i did a slowly but surely it all fell into place and started to work. after working very very relentlessly i got it done.
a couple of problems along the way one i have already spoke about with the blocking out instead of straight ahead animating. the other problems was some of the blocked out parts were still hanging around which meant along the way i had a couple of hic-ups that i had to iron out.
but right now im in the lake district having bbqs and beers so ill finish this here.
bye

Contextual Studies sucks arse

So i have been forced to move out f my house for about a week due to arguements with my sister. i've been going from house to house to stay with friends and money is rediculously low. to ad insult to injury ive managed to get on the internet today for first timeina while and turns out that Contextual tutors have moved the essay hand in date a week forward. so where i had planned to spread the work out over two weeks i now only have 3 days...
..FUCK!

i am moving back home tonight or tomorow morning and looks like i need to stay in all day everyday this week to tame this dark mistress that is contextual studies.
i should start it today but cant get my own internet connection so looks like stuck till i go home :( bad bad times.
plus im playing too much N64 to worry aout work at the moment.
wish me luck

MOOM!

So first week back was mostly introductions, explanations and briefs.
I'm now in 2nd week and we are now using our new rig Moom in Maya.
all we had to do was play with the new rig and break it therefore finding its restrictions.
This is a more advanced rig compared to the last one we were given in term 2.
We then had to pose Moom in a number of positions of our choice.
here are some of the renders i have created from the first couple of hours of using this new rig.

Optimistic

Right, first blog entry!
So I've left it a bit late to start my blog, 3rd term of my first year of studying CVA at Ravensbourne College. So far the first 2 terms have been pretty awesome, learnt a lot (first time in about 3 years!) met some nice people and generally having a pretty decent time.
The title 'Optimistic' is me trying to express my feelings about the upcoming third term. I really want to excel in this term, so far averaging a B i really want to push for that A grade. Character animation sounds particuarly interesting i think it should be right up my street. Obviously i dont know the full extent of the brief but i do have an idea in my head of a final product i would like to aim towards. Lets just wait and see.

Cant wait to get back to college....i must be insane, i never thought id say something like that. ahhh whats happening to me!?
So yer im going to go get a shakeaway haha awesome

piece!
